We're just a small town couple living life in beautiful Eagle Colorado.

For this year's Thanksgiving we invited our parents up to the mountains. It was a pretty relaxing Holiday, we did a little shopping, some site seeing and a lot of eating! Ryan did a great job with the Turkey and the ham. Unfortunately it snowed Friday night and the parents had a tough time making it down the mountain, but other than that I think we all had a wonderful time.
This past weekend Ryan and I went on our annual Christmas tree hunt. We picked up the 4 wheelers and headed about 4 miles south of our house. We ended up getting a "charlie brown" tree, but it is a beaut nonetheless! We took it home and I had it decorated that evening. We have all the decorations up, the presents bought and we're ready to head home for the holidays!

Alooooooooooooha!

Aloha Everyone:

Well, we made it back from Hawaiian paradise.... unfortunately. I was hoping all air travel would cease and we'd be "stuck" there for eternity. I LOVE Hawaii. Usually after being on vacation for a week or so I am ready to get back into the groove of real life. Not this time. I didn't want to leave! The weather is perfect, the people are nice, the drinks are delish. Did I mention the beaches? The sun? The scenery? The OCEAN! I'm not a big swimmer, but I'm pretty sure I could go snorkeling all day long. Okay, enough already. I'm making myself miss it again. Ryan loves Hawaii, but I don't think he'd want to ever live there -
unless, of course, there are some elk, deer, moose, etc. running around the island.

So, a little about the trip. We flew in on a Tuesday evening - lots of traveling. We flew from Eagle to Denver to San Fran t0 Kona, HI. It was a LONG day. For the next 5 days we stayed at a beautiful resort on Wikoaloa Bay North/West of Kona. Basically we just relaxed and hung out with friends/fam. I guess I should have mentioned the whole reasoning behind this trip was because Ryan's sista (Shalon) and her fiance were getting married at the resort.

We did lots of snorkeling, swimming, tanning, eating, etc for the first few days. We also did mani/pedi's and Ryan and I tried deep sea fishing another day. Unfortunately, we didn't catch anything except a nice tan. The wedding was BEAUTIFUL. Shalon looked amazing. Lane wasn't acting himself, and come to find out he was sick to his stomach. Apparently he got food poisoning and was unable to attend the wedding reception!! Other than that, it went off wonderfully. The next day Lane was feeling back to normal so they decided to "redo" the cake cutting poolside.
After the wedding Ryan and I headed over to Oahu. We stayed at a military hotel called the Hale Koa. If any of you reading this are military I would strongly suggest staying at this hotel. It is affordable, nice/clean and in a great location (right on Waikiki Beach). I believe we stayed there 4 days. Ryan's parents stayed at a near by hotel so we met up with them from time to time. We also rented a jeep and drove all over the island. It was a lot of fun. Another couple from the wedding, Keelin and Jason Cromar were staying at Bellow's (an AF base on the other side of Oahu) so we met up with them for a day of hanging out on the beach and then into Honolulu for Sushi!

October

October has been a pretty quiet month at the Baugh house. We've been staying close to home and watching the colors change. Ryan went on a big hunting trip up to Pinedale, WY where is buddy, Deke Long shot a moose. He had an elk tag for the Eagle area but didn't get anything. While Ryan was away I spent my time going on a few hikes around the area and cleaning (fun fun).

We are looking forward to our trip to Hawaii in less than a week. We're heading there for Shalon and Lane's wedding. We can't wait! Here are some pictures from the last month or so....and as promised some gorgeous pictures of the turning leaves. Ryan took most of them during a helicopter flight. Enjoy.

One exciting did happen this past month - I got a new car! Yay! Much safer than ole Molly - but boy do I miss her. It's a little dirty in this picture!!

Here are some pictures from a hike we went on a couple weeks ago in the Glenwood Springs Canyon. It was absolutely beautiful. Especially this time of year. More fall pictures to come.

September in a nutshell.....

Gosh! I'm really bad at keeping this thing up to date. I've just started and I'm already slacking! Ahh! I do thinking about my blog from time to time. I always tell myself that I need to bring my camera so I can post this on the blog!

So let's see.....where was I last time? oh yes, I think I was getting ready for the big THS 1998 Class Reunion. Wow. That's all I can really say is WOW! It was awesome to see my old classmates; some I hadn't seen since our graduation. It is just crazy how fast the time has gone by......it definitely doesn't seem like 10 years. Anyway, overall it was a great time and I have to say my favorite part was getting to plan it with Ann. Yeah, it was kind of a pain in the rear but we shared many glasses of wine discussing the details over the phone.

After the reunion was Labor Day, I believe. We spent the long weekend up at the flat tops camping and 4 wheeling. The flat tops are about 30 miles north of town. We've been up there tons so we know the area fairly well. It's a great place for 4 wheeling. Unfortunately Ryan caught the 24 hour flue while we were up there so he was in bed for about 18 hours or so. Thankfully it didn't last long and he was back at it the next day.

We had our annual BGCE company wide golf tournament a couple weeks ago. I am blaming my horrific golf game on the weather. I'm pretty sure I saw snow flakes on the 12th hole. Burrr. My team and I had a great time, but boy was it cold. Thankfully it warmed up on Saturday because 4 of us (my cousin Tracy, her friend Troy, and my friend Erin) decided to climb a 14er, Mt. Beirstadt (elevation 14, 060 ft). We met at the trail head at 8:00 am and started hiking around 8:30. It took us approximately 7 hours round trip, I believe it was 7 miles total. This was my 4th 14er but everyone else's 1st, so it was a lot of fun to make it to the top. There were a few time where I didn't think we were going to make it, but with a little perseverance and a lot of breaks we finally made it. The next day we were all sore and miserable, but I think we'd all agree it was worth it.

Last week was a whirlwind of a week for me. The weekend started with a trip to Denver to watch the Broncos/Chargers game with Ryan's parents and my parents. On the way down we ended up trading in ole Molly the Malibu for a new Trail Blazer. I named her Eggplant Patty. I figured it was time I got a 4 wheel drive, and we got a great deal so we thought what the heck. The football game was awesome. If you watched it I'm sure you'll agree. My mom, who is a HUGE bronco fan, had never been to a game so it was the perfect game for her. The weather was great and it was the home opener so the fans were crazy. I love Bronco games. Thanks to the Pieper's for the great tickets.

Monday I was off to Kansas to do my semi-annual recruiting trip. It is always fun to go and visit with the students and to be on campus, but it makes for a long week. I was pretty excited to get back on Thursday.

This past weekend was kind of a boring one for the Baugh's. We did look at a couple houses around town and found one we both really liked. We're in the process of potentially putting our house on the market and putting in an offer on the house.

July and August

Well, I thought I'd do a better job at keeping up with this blog! I've only just begun and I am already slacking! Not too much has happened in the past weeks since my last blog. Well, I guess now that I am thinking about it a few things did happen. We went to Cheyenne Frontier Day's, met up with some of our Denver friends for a night of camping, I had a birthday (28th - Shalon said it was my Golden birthday since I turned 28 on the 28th - I had never heard that before but I like it!), I lost my life....I mean my cell phone, I found out Molly Jr. (my car) is falling apart, we went to the Eagle County fair where I rode the mechanical bull (twice), and most recently we found a great new camping spot close to our home.

I'll start off by highlighting a few of the above mentioned "events".

Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD's): Not as much fun as in years past. Is it possible that we've outgrown CFD's? I'm not sure....maybe I am just getting old. I guess after attending for the last 10+ years it may just have lost some of it's excitement. I'm sure next year we'll be ready to go again!

My Birthday: Not as exciting as birthdays in years past, but a great one nonetheless. The weekend prior to the big B day we went camping with some our friends from Denver, so I considered that the celebration. Ryan did, however, cook me an entire feast for dinner (including cherry chip birthday cake). It was great! Along with giving me an extra few pounds he also bought me my very own mountain bike. Most of you probably know, I'm not an avid biker......so it may come to a surprise to you that I wanted a bike. Well, considering everyone rides a bike around here I was feeling a little left out. Honestly though, there are great trails around our house and I've been wanting to check them out. I had been riding Ryan's old bike around for quite some time, so it is great to have my very own.

My Phone: Very traumatic. I was without my precious phone for approximately 72 hours and it was awful. Pathetic? Perhaps.......but this is not your ordinary phone. It contains my life. First off, we don't have a home phone so my cell is the only way to contact me and visa versa. Secondly, it sync's to my laptop so all my contacts, email, work calendar, Internet, etc. is on that phone. Not to mention all the great pictures (including the one's Dennis took at the 4th of July picnic). Luckily I had insurance so I received my replacement within two days. Phhheeeewwwww.....I'm glad that problem is solved. I'm sure most of you are aware that I have a tendency to lose things. Well, this time it wasn't my fault (well, it sort of was but not really). I'll save you the details, but it does involve hitting the pavement at approximately 24 mph, being found and kidnapped by a bunch of mexicans never to be seen (or heard from) again.

Camping: Something us Baugh's like to do several time a month in the summer if we can afford the diesel. I swear it costs about $30 in that truck just to drive to the gas station. Anywho....we went camping with our good friends Lonnie, Debbie and their son Dustin and our other friends Rich and Donna Jo. We had a grrrrrrreat time. My favorite part is that it only took us an hour or so to get home. We camped northeast of Wolcott about 20 miles or so, at the base of Piney Peak (I think that is what it is called). There were gorgeous views, however those dang pine beatles are ruining all the beautiful evergreens. If a forest fire ever breaks out up here we'll be in big trouble. I can olny imagine how fast all those trees will go up in flames.

Stay tuned for next weeks blog entitled: Becky's 10 year Class Reunion.....that should be an interetsing one.

Below is a video I took of the big truck on a rough road. It was slow going for Ryan so I made him let me out so I could do some recon on the road ahead. Sorry it's sideways.....I was lucky just getting it uploaded.

Denver and Chinn's Lake

This past weekend was a very busy one for the Baugh's. Friday I had a work BBQ in Denver which was a lot of fun but made for a very long day. We left for Denver at 6:00 am and didn't get back to Eagle until after 11 pm. While I was in Denver Ryan was at home loading up the camper and 4 wheelers for our weekend adventure. A couple of our friends from Denver (Jason & Leanne, Nancy & Greg, and Ben & Christie....oh, AND Ace, Roxy, Tank and Comit) met us at Chinnn's lake about which is about 10 miles north of Idaho Springs. It was a rough road getting there but the views were breath taking. We were camping at around 11,ooo feet so we got to play a little in the snow! Ryan tried out his new bait on the lake but to no avail. Apparently there were plenty of fish but they weren't biting. Maybe next time.

Busy June and July

http://www.kodakgallery.com/PhotoView.jsp?UV=694411340078_727693503603&collid=540046853103.862461632603.1217275547932&photoid=247013632603&folderid=0&view=1&page=1&sort_order=0&albumsperpage=&navfolderid=2008
We had a very exciting end of June and first part of July. I was in Chicago (which was AWESOME) 5 days for an HR conference. I was a little nervous going by myself but I had the time of my life. When I returned we packed up the big truck and headed north. Our first stop was Torrington to drop off the dog. The next morning we headed towards Cody, WY to meet up with the Bentley's and the Long's. From there we made it to our destination, Billings, MT where we visited with Ryan's grandma Gladys and uncle Rick. It was really nice finally being able to see where they live. Ryan's uncle gave him this early 1980's Honda motorcycle. He basically rebuilt the whole thing so it runs great! I can't tell you how much we appreciate it - especially with the cost of diesel fuel. Thanks a ton Rick!
